Although a Chartered Engineer (CEng) by training, I have been investing in the stock market since 1998 testing various investment strategies, before taking a break in 2007 whilst relocating overseas to Dubai. This created time to think and explore how to create a sustainable, high quality portfolio aligned with my personal skill set, risk appetite and temperament.
An epiphany came in 2009/10 in the form of reading Guy Thomas’s superb book “Free Capital”, and since returning to the UK in 2013, I have been investing solely in UK small-caps with a primary focus on Industrials and Support Services.
